What should I look for on my skin?
Scaly, itchy, bleeding, tender and doesn’t heal within 6 weeks, in appearance (size, shape or colour), Abnormal: looks different, feels different, or stands out when compared to others, most melanomas and all other skin cancers arise this way.
How do I protect my skin?
Seek shade, cover up with protective clothing, a broad brim hat and sunglasses, apply SPF 30+ or higher sunscreen to exposed skin. Apply generously 20 minutes before going outside.
What is skin cancer?
Skin cancer occurs when skin cells are damaged, for example, by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun.
There are three main types of skin cancer:
- basal cell carcinoma
- squamous cell carcinoma
- melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer.

How much will my appointment cost?
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash or EFTPOS. Fees and charges remain variable for each patient depending on individual circumstances. In some circumstances e.g. Financial hardship the practice will bulk bill, please speak to your Doctor. Below are the standard consultation fees.
